The outstanding quality of the Siemens / Klangfilm power amps results from the employment of excellent parts of highest quality and stability. Most output transformers are oversized and use finest core materials.
Looking at the different types the winners are the former ELA transformers for 100V operation as many have 4 accessible interleaved windings, which lead to a very extended frequency response and very low distortion. Furthermore they also allow to be used in ultralinear operation or with different interleaving combinations. |
