Less is more? Look at
this: One tube for both channels and enough for a full power amp. Built on
the same chassis as the 3/683 this amp uses just one ELL80.
This way input
sensitivity is not too high, but the amp will work with most preamps. No
input tubes means: NO COUPLING CAP!
The output power is 1
watt (undistorted) into 4 or 8 Ohms. The maximum output is 2 watts, but with
noticeable distortion.
The sound?
Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiice. Really. Better than any Telefunken S80/81/82. Less is
more. Yes. At least sometimes...
What you
should do for HiFi use:
1. Remove the capacitor from
the plates to B+ (see picture) for correct high frequency response.
2. Add speaker connectors to
the output taps of the output transformer (black-yellow and black-red)
3. If you need more bass add a
10uF from the feedback cable (blue) to ground. |
